Job Summary:
Join a dynamic engineering team responsible for designing high-precision IC mould chase tooling solutions, supporting product development, design excellence, and on-time project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure on-time release of engineering drawings in accordance with project schedules.
- Develop and maintain accurate 2D and 3D mould tooling designs and engineering drawings.
- Ensure all designs comply with established design rules, guidelines, and engineering standards.
- Prepare and maintain SPM documentation and supporting design data for system uploads.
- Prepare materials and presentations for internal design reviews and engineering review approvals (ERA).
- Highlight key design considerations, risks, and proposed solutions during review sessions.
- Document meeting outcomes and distribute meeting minutes to relevant stakeholders.
- Generate Moldflow models and perform preliminary CAE analysis to evaluate design performance.
- Recommend design improvements based on simulation and analysis results.
- Conduct structural and predictive studies to identify and mitigate potential design concerns.
- Participate in design reviews with customers and address technical queries professionally.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Support junior engineers in understanding design requirements, workflows, and best practices to ensure project success.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- No experience is required. Candidates with relevant internship, academic project, or industrial attachment experience are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with relevant industry experience should possess a strong understanding of precision engineering design principles.
- Experience in mould or die tool design is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design software such as Solid Edge and SolidWorks.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards, design rules, and design guidelines.
- Familiarity with Moldflow simulation, CAE analysis, and engineering design validation methodologies is advantageous.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience in mentoring or guiding junior engineers is an added advantage.
