The Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining machines on construction sites.
A summary of the responsibilities of this position are, and not limited to, as follows:
Repair & Maintenance
- Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, forklifts, cranes, light and heavy-duty trucks, generators, etc.).
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per manufacturer guidelines and company SOPs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues effectively.
Supervision & Leadership
- Guide and train junior mechanics and apprentices in repair and maintenance tasks.
- Provide technical advice to Plant Engineer and supervisor.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all repair work complies with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, parts usage, and service reports.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used correctly and safely.
Parts & Inventory
- Identify required spare parts and materials for repairs.
- Support in maintaining stock levels and proper usage of workshop inventory.
Customer Support
- Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and management regarding machine conditions.
- Provide technical recommendations to improve machine reliability and performance.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy machinery repair and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Team oriented with a positive and responsible attitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Written and spoken basic English
