Mechanic (6-months contract, renewable)

Role:

The Mechanic works under close supervision to perform structured tasks while adhering to established work instructions, procedures, and safety requirements. The incumbent works as part of a team to achieve production and quality targets, while complying with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and reporting any safety concerns or deviations. The Mechanic collaborates closely with Engineers and the Operations Lead on machine transportation, machine preparation for delivery, and the maintenance of tools and jigs. The incumbent also supports the Industrial Engineering (IE) team in executing layout changes.

Responsibilities:

• Operate automated lifters and pallet jacks to transport machines and accessories to designated locations.
• Prepare incoming machines, including conducting quality checks.
• Pack machines upon successful completion of their respective System Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Assist with machine transport and delivery preparation activities.
• Perform maintenance of tools, fixtures, and jigs.
• Support layout changes and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

Requirements:

• NITEC or Higher NITEC in an Engineering-related discipline.
• Preferably 1 to 2 years of experience in a machinery manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of SMT technology, applications, and work processes will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of operating electric pallet trucks will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good quality mindset with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
