Job Description

. Proficiency in using various knives and cutting tools to butcher and prepare meat

. An understanding of different cuts of meat and how to prepare them

. The ability to cut meat into specified portions accurately

. Ensuring the meat is fresh, properly stored and handled according to food safety standards

. Strong communication skills to interact with customers, take orders and provide recommendations

. Knowledge of and adherence to safety practices to prevent injuries and maintain a clean workspace

  • Meat Preparation: Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meat, poultry, and fish into consumer-sized portions for display.
  • Product Display & Merchandising: Package, weigh, label, and price meat products, ensuring an attractive display that meets company standards.
  • Sanitation & Safety: Maintain, clean, and sterilize equipment such as knives, saws, and grinders. Adhere to health regulations, including monitoring temperatures and rotation.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with special requests, advise on cooking methods, and provide high-quality service.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, rotate products to ensure freshness, and manage waste.
