Materials Scientist/Engineer (Fibre Optics)
In This Role, You Will
- Play a key role in developing optical fibres for laser applications in DSO in close collaboration with both DSO colleagues at the Applied Physical Science Lab and researchers at the Centre for Optical Fibre Technology (COFT) in NTU.
- Design optical fibres in support of the fibre laser development in DSO
- Develop a robust, optimised fibre fabrication process at COFT (NTU)
- Characterise and analyse the performance of optical fibres
Job Requirements
- Diploma / Degree / Master / PHD in Engineering Science, Materials Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering or any related fields
- Background in materials science, process or product engineering
- Possess hands-on skills in materials R&D
- Operate, troubleshoot chemical processes
- Analyse & interpret data, diagnose issues
- Independent and self-driven learner
- Meticulous individual with a passion for materials processing
- Organised individual who can manage well his or her work schedule & tasks
- Team player who can lead and work well with others
