Role Overview
This is a founding technology leadership role responsible for designing and building the firm's in-house market-making and low-latency trading platform from the ground up. The organization currently has close to 2000 staff globally across its various trading platforms. Working in close partnership with senior leadership, you will define the technical architecture, engineering standards, and operating model for a newly established market-making desk. From day one, you will own the end-to-end trading stack, setting the technical direction for a platform intended to operate at MFT/HFT performance levels across global crypto venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and own a production-grade market-making technology stack, including pricing and quoting engines, order and risk management systems, market data pipelines, and real-time monitoring infrastructure
- Lead low-latency systems development within cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, etc.), optimizing network performance and execution paths in non-co-located setups
- Design and maintain resilient exchange connectivity, addressing venue-specific behaviors, API limitations, and operational edge cases across crypto derivatives markets
- Develop robust simulation, backtesting, and stress-testing frameworks to support strategy research and validation
- Implement fault-tolerant system design, including automated failover, redundancy, and safeguards against exchange outages, API instability, and rate-limit constraints
- Partner closely with traders and quants on strategy implementation, pricing logic, and execution workflows
- Establish engineering best practices, development standards, deployment pipelines, and long-term maintainability of the trading platform
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building low-latency trading, market-making, or HFT systems in production environments
- Deep expertise in C++ and Rust for performance-critical components; Python for research, tooling, and experimentation
- Proven experience architecting and scaling end-to-end trading systems, spanning market data ingestion, execution, and risk controls
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and performance optimization in latency-sensitive, distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with exchange connectivity protocols (WebSocket, REST, FIX or FIX-like variants)
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with traders and quantitative teams in a high-performance trading environment
