Job Description

As the Market Development Director for KFC South Asia, you will be at the forefront of our expansion plans, working closely with franchise partners to drive profitable store unit growth. Your role is pivotal in establishing strong partnerships, securing growth, and enhancing asset performance across a diverse portfolio of markets. With a focus on Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and Brunei, you'll be based in Singapore and travel approximately 30% of the time.

  • Structure and deliver key development KPIs, including new store openings, relocations, and remodels.
  • Secure contracted growth by negotiating mutually beneficial deals with franchise partners.
  • Enhance asset ROIs by determining optimal geographic strategies, asset management, and site selection.
  • Lead franchisee growth by improving cash flow through capex reduction and P&L optimization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with franchisee development teams, acting as a liaison with KFC Asia.
  • Ensure asset actions align with KFC Asia guidelines, reviewing pipelines to meet opening and remodel targets.
  • Manage franchisee execution in line with KFC Asia's development processes and standards.
  • Assess and build franchisee capability through conferences, workshops, and market visits.
  • Identify and deploy regional and global best practices to enhance franchisee performance.
  • Report to the Chief Development Officer, collaborating with cross-functional teams for holistic market development.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or Development; MBA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in strategy, commercial, business analysis, planning, or finance.
  • International business experience is mandatory, with a preference for QSR, FMCG, or retail sectors.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing retail P&L statements is essential.
  • Proven track record of successful multi-stakeholder management, with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in predictive financial modeling and a strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience working in a franchisor's business is ideal, with M&A or consulting experience an added advantage.
  • High cultural sensitivity, with experience working in developed and developing countries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities.
  • Executive presence, maturity, and a willingness to travel are key attributes for this role.
