The Market Operations (MO) team is the core business unit in EMC that provides operational resource and support to the Singapore electricity wholesale market, the National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS).
Key responsibilities
The Market Analyst (Operations) is responsible for fulfilling the market operation obligations of EMC in accordance with the market rules. The scope of responsibilities includes performing and presenting analysis of market outcomes, support settlement operation duties and risk management, provision of market performance reporting and routine data request, administration of standing data, managing data subscription, and improving business operation processes. He/She will assist the SVP in ensuring an efficient and reliable market clearing and settlement operation in the following areas:
The Market Analyst (Operations) is responsible for the following key duties:
(i) Fulfil EMC market obligations under the market rules with respect to price finalization process, market settlement process and publication obligations.
(ii) Prepare data, analyse, report and present on market performance on a periodic basis. Proactively consult with market participants and actively seek feedback to adapt the information provision suiting their need within the market rule allowance.
(iii) Ensure all standing data maintained in the Market Clearing Engine (MCE) are used for modelling the physical power system.
(iv) Prepare Performance Indicator Measurement System (PIMS) monitoring, Incident and Rule Breach Reporting.
(v) Assist in fulfilling routine and ad-hoc data requirements, particularly from the Rule Change Panel and EMA.
(vi) Provide rotating 24x7 on-call standby service.
(vii) Host the Market Information Sharing Forum (MISF) to present on the market performance to Market Participants. Provide training on NEMS settlement to internal/external parties.
(vii) Review, content manage and maintain the MO section of the corporate and private website.
(viii) Review and update the business process manuals on a periodic basis.
(ix) Perform any other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
