Market Analyst Intern

Role Overview

The Market Analyst intern will support PIMD's analytics desk through assisting the Senior Market Analyst in cross barrel analytics to support PIMD's core business in Singapore, and to provide insights and recommendations on PIMD's future business plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain automated data ingestion pipelines
• Tracking key market trends and trade flows
• Data Visualisation: PowerBI dashboard creation & maintenance
• Market Analytics & Reporting - market monitoring, weekly reports, and basic analysis
• Ad-hoc analytical support for the team
• Process automation (VBA, Python, AI)

Interns will eventually be expected to perform supply and demand analysis, daily market updates and independent research/analysis on global developments that might affect the oil markets.

Key requirements

• Proficiency in Python programming and Excel
• Experience in commodity industry, with experience in developing and maintaining supply and demand models
• Self-motivated individual with a keen eye for details, ability to work under pressure and volatile market conditions and have a mind for commercial matters
