  • Support the Advisory and Solutions Manager in delivering consultancy assignments in line with agreed scope, schedule, cost, and quality standards.
  • Conduct marine surveys and inspections as required, e.g. marine consultancy, fleet management advisory, and expert witness.
  • Coordinate and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams, including planning, task allocation, progress tracking, and output review.
  • Produce and review high-quality technical reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and fitness for purpose.
  • Ensure compliance with ABL procedures, including document control and quality assurance requirements.
  • Contribute to business development activities such as lead follow-up, networking, and industry events.
  • Support the preparation of tenders and proposals, including scope definition, deliverables, assumptions, and resourcing.
  • Monitor and share relevant market, technological, and regulatory developments impacting clients and services.
  • Build knowledge of ABL's capabilities, structure, and service offerings across the region and wider group.
  • Contribute to work across multiple service lines, developing a broad commercial and operational understanding.
  • Support delivery across functions based on business needs, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Support the development of junior team members through guidance and constructive feedback.
  • Uphold QHSE responsibilities on all projects, ensuring compliance with ABL policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Master Mariner (STCW II/2) or Chief Engineer (STCW III/2), with 3 - 5 years worth of sailing experience at that level.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in ship management and / or marine consultancy, with involvement in project-based work.
  • Experience working in operational environments (e.g. vessel attendance, site-based assignments).
  • Proven ability to manage and engage multiple stakeholders, including clients, vessel owners / managers, contractors, and third parties.
  • Experience leading or coordinating multi-disciplinary technical teams across advisory, due diligence, assurance, or inspection scopes.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including planning, resourcing, scheduling, and budget delivery.
  • Relevant industry accreditations such as (e.g. IMCA eCMID, OCIMF, OVID / SIRE) are desirable.
