Our client, an international provider of marine insurance and risk management solutions serving shipowners and maritime businesses globally is currently hiring an Underwriter as part of their Singapore expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, evaluate, and underwrite new marine insurance risks, determining appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing in line with underwriting guidelines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vessel owners, marine intermediaries, and other key stakeholders across the maritime sector.
- Manage and service an existing portfolio of insured members, including policy reviews, renewals, and ongoing underwriting support.
- Partner with claims and technical specialists to evaluate exposures, analyse risk profiles, and determine appropriate pricing strategies.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through market engagement, client acquisition activities, and underwriting assessments of prospective accounts.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as Marine Underwriter or Broker
- Technical knowledge on Marine P&I, FDD, H&M, LOH
- A degree or professional qualification in Shipping, Insurance, Business, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
- Lawyers or legally trained professionals are highly advantageous
