About the Role:
Our client is urgently seeking an experienced Marine Superintendent to oversee and support vessel operations with a strong focus on safety, compliance and operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone with prior sailing experience as a Master Mariner or with solid shore-based experience managing product or chemical tankers in line with international and Singapore maritime standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure vessel operations comply with all international and local maritime laws, including MPA and IMO regulations.
- Oversee and support shipboard teams to maintain high standards of safety, health and environmental compliance.
- Conduct vessel inspections, audits and follow-ups to ensure adherence to company procedures and statutory requirements.
- Investigate incidents and near misses and implement preventive measures.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to ship staff and ensure crew competency.
- Coordinate with port authorities, classification societies and other regulatory bodies.
- Work closely with the technical, crewing and HSEQ teams to ensure vessel readiness and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and support ship performance and provide operational input to management.
Requirements:
- Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 1 or 2.
- Seagoing experience as a Master Mariner OR at least 2 years of relevant shore-based experience in a safety/compliance role (preferably with product or chemical tankers).
- Strong knowledge of international (ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS) and Singapore maritime regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Able to inspire and lead shipboard teams effectively.
