Job Description

Our client is a well established organisation in the marine & bunkering industry. They are actively hiring for a Marine Superintendent to join them. This role reports to the Marine Manager.

Objective Summary

The incumbent is accountable for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operations of assigned product tankers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold vessel compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure vessels are fully prepared to perform voyages and operational duties.
  • Coordinate and manage statutory and class-related audits/inspections (ISM, ISPS, MLC).
  • Organise and supervise vetting inspections, including submissions to the OCIMF SIRE platform.
  • Oversee navigational practices, including passage plan approvals and navigation audits.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements from terminals, operators, oil majors, and charterers.
  • Liaise with Flag and Port State authorities on regulatory matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date Q88 and HVPQ records.
  • Advise on regulatory updates, industry requirements, and best practices.
  • Monitor, review, and update the companys Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Provide guidance and support to vessels on operational, compliance, and safety matters.
  • Support crew competency, training, and discipline initiatives.
  • Address queries on vessel capabilities and performance.
  • Participate as a member of the companys emergency response team.
  • Undertake projects and assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Seagoing experience as Master (CoC Class 1 or 2) or a minimum of 2 years shore-based experience in safety, health, and environmental management for product or chemical tankers.
  • Strong knowledge of international and local maritime regulations and compliance requirements.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to motivate, guide, and inspire others.
