The Role
Graduate/Junior - You will design robust steel and aluminium structures, ensuring the global strength and local integrity of diverse vessel hulls.
- Calculate structural dimensions and scantlings using Classification Society rules.
- Assist in building detailed Finite Element Models (FEM) for stress and fatigue analysis.
- Evaluate structural responses to extreme wave loads, cargo weight, and impacts.
Senior - You will ensure the ultimate structural integrity of massive maritime assets. You will lead direct calculations and finite element modelling while verifying structural safety across the entire engineering lifecycle.
- Oversee midship section configurations and execute rule-based scantling assessments across all major hull modules.
- Build high-fidelity global and local Finite Element Models (FEM) to analyze structural stress, buckling behaviour, and fatigue limits.
- Compile comprehensive FEA reports and interface directly with Classification Society technical headquarters to secure plan approvals.
- Mentor junior structural engineers in generating detailed structural designs and structural fabrication data
What You Need
- Graduate with a Diploma, or a recent Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Naval Architecture, with 5+ years of FEA direct calculation experience for a senior role.
- Deep understanding of mechanics of materials, beam theory, and structural analysis.
- Expertise using premium tools like ANSYS, Femap/NX Nastran, Patran/Nastran, or Class-specific software (e.g., DNV Nauticus).
- High precision, strong attention to detail, and a passion for structural safety.
- Deep theoretical grounding in plate & shell theory, structural mechanics, fracture mechanics, and fatigue validation methodologies.
- Strong written English capabilities to produce flawless technical reports for international review boards.
