We are seeking a versatile Marine Technician to join a dynamic maritime service team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end maintenance and technical health of a diverse fleet, ensuring all machinery remains compliant and operational for international maritime standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance across multiple vessel types to ensure continuous operational readiness.
- Identify and resolve faults in critical shipboard systems, including steering, fluid transfer, and localized mechanical components.
- Diagnose, service, and overhaul various classes of marine engines and auxiliary power units.
- Maintain high standards of engine room organization and safety during all technical assignments.
- Produce comprehensive service reports and provide clear technical guidance to vessel owners and operators regarding repair scopes.
- Ensure all works meet strict international safety (ISM) and environmental (MARPOL) standards.
- Maintain detailed digital logs of parts, labor, and service history using marine management software.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary technical team to meet tight turnaround windows and mentor junior engine room staff.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience working within the Shipping or Offshore sectors.
Diploma or Certification in Marine Engineering or a relevant mechanical discipline.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Marine Service and Repair.
Deep knowledge of marine propulsion and auxiliary machinery.
Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and engine manuals.
Strong problem-solving skills and the physical ability to work in typical maritime environments (confined spaces/variable weather).
