- Ensure compliance with all terminal, charterer, customer, and regulatory safety and operational requirements, including audits, inspections, ISM/ISPS/MLC and OCIMF SIRE vetting.
- Oversee safe and efficient marine operations in accordance with the Safety Management System, maintaining vessel readiness, equipment, machinery, and onboard publications.
- Manage crew competency through training and evaluation, investigate incidents and accidents, implement corrective actions, and take part in SMS reviews and emergency response.
- Monitor and report vessel performance, liaise with terminals, charterers, customers and P&I insurers, and manage marine personnel, resources, and departmental budget.
Requirements:
- Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 1 or Class 2
- Minimum 7 years of shore-based in SHE management, regulatory compliance, and safety oversight within product or chemical tanker operations.
- Strong knowledge of marine regulations, Safety Management Systems, audits, and vetting inspections (ISM, ISPS, MLC, OCIMF SIRE).
- Good leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills within marine operations.
