Role overview:
The Marine Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of engineering and technical service projects. The role requires close coordination with internal and external stakeholders and operates in schedule-driven, compliance-heavy environments where the ability to adapt to operational constraints is essential.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and monitor assigned projects in accordance with approved scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety requirements
- Act as the main point of contact with relevant stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout project execution
- Develop work plans, schedules, progress tracking, and cost controls
- Coordinate with engineers, technicians, subcontractors, or OEM partners to ensure timely and compliant execution
- Ensure project execution aligns with U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) requirements, applicable OSHA safety standards, Navy 3M program requirements, and established Quality Assurance procedures
- Identify project risks and issues early and implement practical mitigation measures
- Ensure accurate preparation, control, and submission of project documentation, including QA records, safety documentation, and compliance deliverables
- Provide regular progress updates and reporting to management
- Maintain confidentiality and security awareness when handling sensitive project, client, or operational information
Relevant experience and qualifications:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of project management experience in relevant technical or industrial environments.
- Suitable backgrounds include marine engineering, defense or naval support, heavy industry or shipyard operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams and subcontractors
- Proven ability to deliver projects under tight schedules and operational constraints
- Experience working with government or other defense customers is an advantage
- Prior exposure to NAVSEA standards, OSHA regulations, Navy 3M program processes, and formal Quality Assurance systems is required or strongly preferred
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of project controls, including scope, schedule, cost, and risk management
- Technical literacy to understand specifications and work scopes
- Working knowledge of NAVSEA compliance, Navy 3M documentation discipline, and safety management practices
- Clear written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in operational environments such as shipyards, vessels, or industrial sites
- High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
