Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Marine HVAC Electrician to join our expanding service team in Singapore

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine HVAC electrical and control systems onboard vessels.
  • Diagnose electrical Panels Motor Compressor safety trips and connection panels, Switch board modifications faults in central air conditioning, chilled water, DX, provision refrigeration, and ventilation systems.
  • Perform testing and commissioning of HVAC electrical equipment after repairs.
  • Service and troubleshoot: Compressors Fan motors Condenser and evaporator motors Chilled water pumps Cooling tower motors AHUs and FCUs Ventilation systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical control panels, PLC interfaces, relays, contactors, overloads, timers, pressure switches, thermostats, temperature controllers, sensors, and actuators.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
  • Carry out insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, phase sequence verification, voltage/current measurements, and motor performance checks.
  • Assist with refrigerant recovery, leak testing, nitrogen pressure testing, vacuuming, and commissioning when required.
  • Prepare technical service reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Attend vessels at Singapore ports, anchorages, shipyards, and overseas service locations

Requirements

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in: Electrical Engineering Marine Electrical Engineering Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Marine Engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in marine HVAC electrical systems.
  • Experience working onboard commercial vessels, offshore vessels, or shipyards is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of electrical troubleshooting for marine HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Familiar with safe electrical isolation procedures and marine safety practices.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and attend emergency vessel breakdowns.
  • Able to travel overseas at short notice when required.
  • Possess a positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

  • Carrier, Daikin, York, Bitzer, Copeland, Sabroe, and Mitsubishi HVAC systems
  • Marine chiller plants
  • Provision refrigeration systems
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Soft starters
  • Motor Control Centers (MCC)
  • PLC-based HVAC control systems
  • Digital temperature controllers
  • Electronic expansion valves
  • Pressure transmitters and sensors
  • Marine automation systems
