Key Responsibilities
Assess contract terms, technical drawings, and equipment specifications to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Ensure timely delivery of design and engineering production drawings for awarded projects.
Coordinate with designers, classification societies, vendors, and clients to meet specifications for newbuilding, repair, and conversion projects.
Interpret design drawings and apply classification rules and maritime regulations in project execution.
Address technical comments in writing, propose solutions, and prepare drawing remarks for distribution to relevant stakeholders.
Prepare production drawings based on class-approved or client-issued design documents.
Develop technical drawings including general arrangements, outfitting plans, lifesaving equipment layouts, structural strength calculations, block construction plans, weight estimates, weight control reports, and lifting arrangements.
Support commercial newbuilding and repair teams during tender exercises by developing preliminary design concepts aligned with tender requirements.
Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Requirements
Polytechnic Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum 3-5 years of engineering experience in structural design within the marine or offshore industries.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
Willingness to travel overseas for technical meetings as required.
Ability to interpret marine structural drawings, understand technical specifications, and engage in client discussions.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
