Job Description

Naval Engineer FLNG/FPSO Hulls

Location: Singapore

Job Purpose

This role involves supporting naval engineering design for FLNG and FPSO hulls, covering conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering phases. Responsibilities include optimising hull performance, structural integrity, and compliance with international standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform trim and stability calculations in accordance with IMO and classification society rules, including intact and damage stability assessments.
  • Conduct structural engineering analysis, including global and local strength assessments using FEA tools.
  • Carry out fatigue analysis using spectral methods to evaluate long-term structural integrity under cyclic loading.
  • Develop metocean design criteria based on regional environmental data and classification requirements.
  • Perform heading, motion, and acceleration analysis using time-domain and frequency-domain simulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure hull designs meet project and regulatory requirements.
  • Support engineering deliverables across all phases from concept to detailed design.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years experience in naval/offshore engineering, specifically for FLNG, FPSO, or similar floating structures.
  • Strong experience in stability, structural, and fatigue engineering for hulls.
  • Proficiency with FEA software and naval engineering simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of IMO regulations and classification society rules.
  • Ability to perform metocean, heading, and motion analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
