GENERAL SUMMARY

Owing to the expansion of our operations in Asia, we are seeking a Marine Claims Manager – Southeast Asia to join us and serve our customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australasia and India. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about maritime insurance with experience in handling marine cargo, hull & machinery and marine liability claims.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to Head of Marine Claims, you will work together with the team within the region to manage marine claims that are reported to our offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and India:

  1. Oversee the progress of fast-track and complex marine cargo, hull & machinery and marine liability claims within designated authorities independently .
  2. Co-ordinate with stakeholders and service providers in formulating resolutions on reported claims.
  3. Partner with internal finance functions to ensure accurate financial recording of reported claims and timely approval of payments.
  4. Maintain up-to-date claim records in accordance with standardized corporate operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
  5. To perform other ad hoc duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Specifications:

  • Meticulous and accurate.
  • Customer focused with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Qualified ACII / ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) / CPCU other professional qualifications in progress will be advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in handling marine cargo, hull and machinery and marine liability claims in insurance companies with supervisory skills.
