Job Description

Our client, a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support technical evaluation and machining process development. This role will focus on RFQ technical support, machining feasibility studies, and strengthening in-house gun drilling capabilities, while working closely with Sales, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and BOMs to understand technical and manufacturing requirements.
  • Prepare machining process cycle-time estimations to support the Sales team in RFQ submissions.
  • Develop markup drawings and detailed subcontracting scopes for the Purchasing team where external machining support is required.
  • Assess in-house manufacturing feasibility and cycle-time, particularly for deep-hole / gun drilling operations.
  • Provide technical guidance to Sales, Quality, and Supply Chain teams on machining processes and manufacturing solutions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external customers to clarify technical requirements and propose engineering solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive CI projects using Lean, Kaizen, and DMAIC methodologies.
  • Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing technical issues.
  • Support engineering documentation such as process routing creation, technical reports, and engineering records.
  • Actively participate in HSE initiatives, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of control measures.
  • Ensure work activities comply with HSE policies, management systems, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machining or precision engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, including turning, milling, and deep-hole drilling / gun drilling.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
  • Experience in cycle-time estimation and machining effort analysis based on customer drawings and BOM.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems within manufacturing operations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple technical requirements.

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of API 5CT specifications and oil & gas product applications.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Basic project management experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process design including workflow, layout, assembly, and production equipment planning.
