Manual Tester

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented Manual Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for thoroughly testing software applications to identify defects, verify functionality, and ensure a high-quality user experience before release. You'll work closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios based on business and functional requirements
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
• Collaborate with developers and business analysts to clarify requirements and reproduce issues
• Verify bug fixes and conduct retesting to confirm resolution
• Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide QA input during the planning phase
• Report on testing progress, coverage, and quality metrics to stakeholders
• Support release readiness by ensuring test coverage aligns with project timelines

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in manual/functional software testing
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including black-box, functional, and regression testing
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent
• Experience testing web, mobile, or enterprise applications
• Basic understanding of SQL for data validation
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments
• Familiarity with test automation concepts (even if not hands-on)
