About the role:

The role is accountable for the overall management,governance, and performance of the Singapore entity, including ensuring alignment with group objectives, corporate governance standards, and regulatory requirements.

This senior leadership role operates within a multinational matrix structure and requires close coordination with regional and global headquarters, including Japan HQ, to ensure alignment of business strategy, reporting standards, and corporate governance requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead overall management and strategic direction of Singapore operations
  • Develop and execute business strategies aligned with group and regional objectives
  • Drive sustainable business growth in logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain services

Financial & Business Performance

  • Oversee full P&L responsibility including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Drive profitability, cost efficiency, and operational performance improvement
  • Review and analyze financial and management reports for decision-making

Operational Governance

  • Lead and supervise senior management and department heads across operational functions
  • Ensure efficient, compliant, and controlled execution of logistics operations
  • Strengthen internal controls, risk management framework, and operational governance

Commercial & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage key customer relationships and strategic partnerships
  • Oversee major contract negotiations and commercial agreements
  • Support business development initiatives and market expansion opportunities

Regional & HQ Coordination

  • Act as primary liaison between Singapore operations and regional/global headquarters
  • Ensure timely and accurate management reporting to HQ in accordance with group standards
  • Coordinate cross-border initiatives and ensure alignment with global governance and strategic direction
  • Participate in regional management discussions and contribute to group-level business planning and decision-making
  • Facilitate effective communication between Singapore leadership team and Japan HQ stakeholders

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications in management, logistics, or finance are advantageous.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
  • At least 8 years in senior management or general management roles within a multinational organization.
  • Proven experience managing full corporate P&L responsibility.
  • Experience operating in a multinational matrix organisation involving coordination with regional or global headquarters is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong strategic leadership, execution capability, and organizational management experience.
  • High financial and commercial acumen.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills in multinational environments with the ability to operate in complex cross-border governance structures.
  • Strong communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.

Language Proficiency Requirements (With Business Justification)

  • Japanese: Strong proficiency in spoken and written Japanese is required as the role involves regular communication with senior stakeholders at Japan Headquarters and the review, interpretation, and presentation of management, operational, financial, and governance-related reports prepared in Japanese and English. This is necessary to support group reporting requirements, business coordination, corporate governance alignment, and decision-making across the organisation.
  • English: Strong English proficiency is required for regulatory compliance, managing local internal operations, and handling external stakeholder engagement in Singapore.
