Our client is an established global provider of industrial automation, supply chain technology, and software solutions. As part of its growth strategy in Southeast Asia, the company is seeking an accomplished Managing director to lead its regional Warehouse Automation and Parcel Automation business.
This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for the regional strategy, commercial growth, organizational development, and P&L performance. The successful candidate will serve as the company's senior representative in Southeast Asia (SEA) and lead the continued development of its presence across key regional markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Southeast Asia growth strategy across warehouse automation, parcel automation, software, services, and aftermarket solutions.
- Take full ownership of revenue, profitability, budgets, forecasting, order intake, and overall P&L performance.
- Build a strong commercial pipeline across e-commerce, logistics, CEP, postal, 3PL, retail, FMCG, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors.
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with C-level executives, strategic customers, consultants, system integrators, and business partners.
- Lead major bids, customer presentations, commercial negotiations, and contract discussions.
- Work closely with regional and global engineering, solution design, project management, finance, and product teams.
- Develop partnerships with system integrators, OEMs, consultants, EPC companies, and other relevant industry partners.
- Grow the customer service and aftermarket business, including maintenance contracts, spare parts, field services, remote monitoring, and digital services.
- Strengthen the regional organization by attracting, developing, and leading high-performing teams across sales, service, engineering, project management, and support functions.
- Improve operational processes, governance, reporting, forecasting discipline, and CRM effectiveness.
- Represent the business at regional conferences, exhibitions, industry forums, and senior customer engagements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, commercial, and corporate governance requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Approximately 10–15 years of experience in senior business development, sales, general management, or commercial leadership.
- Strong experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics, parcel automation, logistics technology, robotics, or related industrial automation solutions.
- Direct exposure to solutions such as AS/RS, AMRs, conveyor systems, sortation systems, WMS/WCS, or other integrated automation technologies.
- Proven experience leading a business unit or regional operation with responsibility for revenue, margins, budgets, and profitability.
- Strong customer and partner network across Southeast Asia, particularly within logistics, e-commerce, CEP, postal, 3PL, retail, FMCG, healthcare, or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale a business, organization, or regional market.
- Experience developing customer service or aftermarket revenue would be highly valuable.
- Strong commercial judgment, financial acumen, negotiation skills, and executive-level communication ability.
- Proven ability to operate effectively across different Southeast Asian markets and cultures.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, business, or a related discipline. An MBA would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Fluent English is required. Mandarin, Bahasa, or another Southeast Asian language would be an advantage.
