The Role Overview
The Managing Director, Mintz Group Singapore is responsible for leading high-stakes due diligence engagements, advising clients on risk during complex transactions and disputes and contributing to the growth and evolution of Mintz Group's practice. This role champions Mintz Group's strategic objectives by ensuring timely, actionable, and ethically sound intelligence for clients making critical investment or partnership decisions.
Job Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other high-stakes transactions.
- Manage client expectations and provide strategic recommendations during investigations.
- Coordinate client outreach efforts and business development initiatives internal tools.
- Establish, grow and develop business relationships leading to client engagements.
- Support origination targets by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide expert-level guidance and training to staff across various titles and practices.
- Mentor and sponsor colleagues, fostering their career progression.
- Promote collaboration and information sharing within the team.
Investigative Oversight:
- Oversee and ensure thorough research and actionable reporting.
- Develop and implement innovative methodologies to improve investigative processes.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all client-facing deliverables.
Strategic Contributions
- Contribute to the development of new service offerings and business strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless client experiences.
- Grow and expand regional business as well as the Singapore office.
This Job: The Managing, Mintz Group Singapore role plays a key role in managing cases, building strong client relationships, and driving strategic contributions within the firm. While the Director spends more time managing cases and mentoring staff than performing direct investigative work, they remain deeply involved in ensuring that findings align with client needs. This role requires adaptability, leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results that support Mintz Group's mission of helping clients make informed decisions and stay on the right side of history.
Necessary Skills
- Expertise in directing complex, multi-jurisdictional investigations.
- Strong ability to present investigative findings to C-suite executives and key stakeholder clients.
- Proven experience guiding investigative strategy and mitigating risks.
- Mastery of investigative methodologies, legal research, and financial intelligence.
- Strong ability to develop and maintain strategic client partnerships.
- Experience contributing to revenue growth and business development strategies.
- Deep understanding of investigative ethics, regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance.
- Experience leveraging business development tools and software for business development efforts and outcomes (Salesforce, Hubspot).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in investigations, research, or related fields.
- Significant experience managing investigative teams and client relationships.
- Strong expertise in legal, regulatory, and financial investigations.
- Proven track record in business development and client management.
- Proficiency with investigative databases, including Westlaw and Nexis.
- Proficiency using MS Office Suite.
- Singaporean citizenship required in connection with the business license.
- Multilingual preferred including relevant southeast Asian languages including Chinese and Mandarin.
- English written and spoken fluency required.
