ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for providing leadership and strategic directions in managing the executive corporate functions and trading business of the Company. These include (but are not limited to) the following:
(1) Corporate Matters
- Develop and implement corporate policies, regulations, mission and vision (taking into account relevant Group policies and regulations of the Parent Company Mitsubishi Corporation).
- Motivate and align staff behavior and performance with corporate policies, regulations, mission and vision.
- Liaise with affiliated companies in the Mitsubishi Corporation Group, coordinate Group/corporate matters, representing the Company at Group level, prepare management reports to the Parent Company.
(2) Compliance Functions
- Conduct internal investigations on compliance related matters as and when required
- Manage relationships with the Company's panel of law firms in Asia.
- Identify and report on risk management matters at the Company level and also to the Parent Company.
- Manage outsourced corporate services (e.g. accounting and bookkeeping functions)
(3) HR Matters
- Manpower planning and management
- Evaluate and develop staff to enhance their professional capabilities
(4) Business/Trading Matters
- Strategic and planning, including resilience management of the Company's supply chain and identifying investment opportunities, new business opportunities, conducting feasibility studies and developing new products and services.
- Maintain and develop relationships with customers, brokers, agents across the supply chain.
- Marketing and business development activities
- Manage and coordinating transactions in the entire supply chain for commodity trading
- Maintain relationship with existing brokers, agents etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum undergraduate degree or graduate degree from a well-recognized university.
- Significant knowledge (minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience) across the supply chain for commodity trading (especially in the Grain, Feed Materials, and Oil and Fats sectors).
- Prior experience in management roles
- High proficiency in Japanese and English (listening, speaking and writing) to communicate effectively through phone calls, emails and/or meetings with the head office in Tokyo, as well as both local and expatriate staff in the Asia-Oceania region.
- Capable to analyze industry related information published in Japanese to process such data to create Japanese and English presentations to customers and senior management.
