PURPOSE
Lead a combined software engineering and quality assurance function for Group Digital platforms, responsible for application development, CMS delivery, software testing, releasequalityand production support across regional markets.
The role owns the full SDLC from requirements review, technical solution design, full-stack development, SIT, UAT coordination, regression testing, test automation, release readinessassessmentand post-production defect remediation.
This role works closely with UX, business analysts, development teams, QA engineers, DevOps, Information Security, platform owners, local marketteamsand third-party vendors to deliver secure,scalableand high-quality digital solutions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide technical leadership for digital platform initiatives, change requests, productionfixesand regional deliveryprogrammes
- Own application development across front-end, back-end, APIs,CMSand integration layers, ensuring solutions meet business,securityand operational requirements
- Define and govern engineering standards covering technical design, code quality, source control, branching, code review, securecodingand vulnerability remediation
- Own end-to-end software testing across requirement validation, test planning, SIT, integration testing, UAT coordination, regression testing, performancetestingand security testing
- Drive test automation maturity byestablishingreusable automated regression suites and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Coordinate UAT with local market business teams, including acceptance criteria, business scenarios, test data preparation, defecttriageand sign-off management
- Manage release readiness with clear quality metrics, open defect visibility, riskassessmentand go/no-go recommendations
- Lead L2/L3 production support for application incidents, root cause analysis, permanentfixesand continuous improvement actions
- Coach and mentor developers, QAengineersand vendor resources to raise engineering discipline, testingqualityand delivery consistency
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, SoftwareEngineeringor related discipline
- At least 6 years of hands-on software engineering, applicationdeliveryor digital platform experience
- At least 6 years leading development, QA, testengineeringor cross-functional delivery teams
- Proventrack recorddelivering medium to large-scale digital platforms across multiple markets or business units
- Experience in full SDLC delivery covering requirements analysis, solution design, development, SIT, UAT, regression,releaseand production support
- Experience coordinating UAT with business stakeholders across geographies, including non-technical users and market business owners
- Experience managingvendor, offshore or distributed teams in Agile/Scrum delivery environments

- AI-assisted coding and code review using tools such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent, with sound engineering judgement and secure coding discipline
- Test case generation andoptimisationusing LLM-assisted tools to expand coverage from requirements, userstoriesand existing test suites
- Defect prediction and root cause analysis using historical defect patterns, code changeimpactand AI-assisted triage insights
- Synthetic test data generation to support realistic, privacy-safeand market-representative testing without exposing production data
- Self-healing automation concepts to reduce maintenance effort when UI or API changes occur
- AI-assisted quality dashboards and natural language reporting to communicate release readiness to technical and non-technical stakeholders
