You will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Manage and coordinate logistics to ensure smooth execution of trades across various transportation modes (ships, railcars and barges)
- Monitor and track contract progress, while handling administrative tasks to support the operational area
- Maintain and update relevant systems with accurate information
- Work closely with the Accounting team to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and with trading and operations professionals to maximize effciency and minimize cost for our commodity trades
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers, customers and logistics providers to ensurre the smooth flow of commodities to and from our trading partners
- Monitor vessel movements and cargo availabilty to ensure timely delivery and minimize demurrage
Requirements:
- Education in the relevant field of activity (e.g. supply chain, business) and at least 5 years of experience in a commodity trading company or a related industry (e.g. contract management, logistics operations)
- Experience in other region preferrably Europe (or US) would be an asset
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external interfaces
- Strong organisational skills and subject knowledge of operations and supply chain management
- Thorough knowledge of trading environment and processes
- Fluent English and German language skills required. Knowledge of additional language(s) is highly valued
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Willingness to go the extra mile, including availability outside of standard working hours when needed
- Fast learning and quick implementation skills combined with high attention to detail in logistics and supply chain processes
