About the Role: At Galatek Singapore, we're at the forefront of innovation in advanced semiconductor equipment, developing high-precision, high-speed machines for the next generation of chip manufacturing. We are seeking a Manager/Senior Manager to lead the development, integration, and optimization of complex electromechanical systems, with a particular focus on advanced motion systems within semiconductor tools.

What You'll Do: In this leadership role, you will guide a multidisciplinary team responsible for system architecture, motion control, and functional integration to ensure our semiconductor equipment meets high-performance standards. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the multi-disciplined engineering teams to develop high performance and complex electromechanical systems.
  • Integrate and drive the system architecture and motion strategies for new semiconductor equipment platforms, aligning with customer use cases and product roadmaps.
  • Design and optimize motion subsystems, including linear/rotary actuators, feedback systems, and servo control loops, ensuring optimal performance in speed, accuracy, and stability.
  • Oversee interface definitions, cross-domain integration, and trade-off analysis across mechanical, electrical, motion, vision, control, and software domains.
  • Guide teams in technology selection, system design, modular architecture development, and vibration isolation strategies.
  • Coordinate with Program Management, Product Marketing, and Engineering leaders to ensure alignment and timely execution through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • Conduct dynamic simulations and modal analyses to predict and mitigate potential issues while driving continuous improvement based on engineering best practices.
  • Participate and facilitate cross-functional design reviews, lead root-cause investigations, and support system bring-up and validation phases.
  • Engage with motion component vendors to evaluate solutions, optimizing cost vs. performance trade-offs.
  • Shape the next-generation product roadmap through module and integration level innovations, competitive benchmarking, and strategic technology scouting.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic, or Systems Engineering; advanced qualifications are a strong plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering design, system integration, or product development, specifically in semiconductor capital equipment or high-speed automation.
  • At least 3+ years of team leadership or management experience with demonstrated ability to guide cross-functional technical teams.
  • Deep technical knowledge across multiple domains: mechanical design, motion control, vision systems, embedded software, and electrical/electronic integration.
  • Proven experience in managing complex, multidisciplinary system architectures and full product lifecycle ownership, including NPI processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset and ability to debug issues across both hardware and software domains.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools, simulation software, Python, JavaScript, and PLM systems is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin (for working with clients and vendors in the region).
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement and next generation product strategy planning based on customer's technology roadmaps.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% during product transitions and customer engagements.
