Established in 1968, the Singapore Book Publishers Association represents the interests of Singapore publishers engaged in a wide range of publishing, marketing, and distribution activities in both print and digital formats. It focuses on developing and strengthening the book ecosystem in Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Secretariat's administration and strategy, including grants writing and claims, financial sustainability, human resources, etc.
- Managing and strengthen the SPA professional Secretariat, including developing annual strategic plans and further developing basic operating procedures
- Securing grant funding for the next phase of our development
- Running SBPA programmes such as the internship programme, the Singapore Book Awards, and the National Pavillion programme at various international book fairs
- Managing events such as consumer and B2B events, networking sessions, members meetings, training programmes and services for the publishing industry
- Liaising with and maintaining strong relationships with industry partners, government bodies, other stakeholders, member companies, and Executive Committee members
- Managing full-time Secretariat staff, interns, as well as volunteers and
- Performing other duties aligned to the SBPA Constitution and as directed by the Executive Committee.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years professional experience, with min 2 years of management experience
- Strong collaborator and coordinator, able to work with a variety of stakeholders
- Strategic and resourceful thinker, able to propose innovative approaches or solutions
- Excellent good verbal and written communication, especially in English
- Attention to detail, self-motivated, structured, takes ownership of projects
- Knowledge of industry best practices, trends and developments, networks and resources, etc.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in the publishing industry, creative sector, trade associations or non-profits
- Familiar with fundraising, branding, events, publicity, etc.
