The Ascott Limited is a leading international lodging owner-operator with a growing portfolio of serviced residences, hotels, resorts, and co-living properties across global markets. You will play a key role in shaping Ascott's next generation of hospitality experiences across Full-Service Hotels, Resorts, Serviced Residences, and F&B concepts.
Reporting to the Head of Global ID & Technical Services, you will lead and manage design initiatives across new developments, renovations, conversions, and prototype projects - balancing design excellence, operational functionality, commercial considerations, and brand standards.
This role requires a strong hospitality design professional who combines creative vision with technical depth, stakeholder management capabilities, and a strong understanding of hotel operations and guest experience.
Responsibilities
Interior Design Services (Full service hotels, Resorts & F&B)
- Lead interior design assignments from concept through schematic design, design development, tender documentation, and project completion.
- Utilize design tools such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Photoshop, 3D visualization software, and AI-based design tools for concept development, space planning, and layout optimization.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and visual boards for stakeholder review.
- Select FF&E, colour palettes, materials, and finishes, and prepare mood boards and sample boards.
- Support the preparation of schedules of finishes and material specifications.
- Coordinate with consultants, furniture dealers, product representatives, and fabricators to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure design quality meets company standards and professional benchmarks.
Design Management
- Guide and coordinate consultants (e.g., Interior Designer, F&B, Project Manager, etc.) to ensure the project aligns with brand standards, as well as commercial and operational requirements.
- Ensure availability and adherence to company guidelines, specifications, and requirements for all projects.
- Ensure the protection of the standards of the products and to take required action if any breach is identified.
- Review, evaluate and assess new projects to ensure compliance with serviced residence and hotel standards, operations, and functional requirements.
- Attend project kick-offs, coordinating with Owners, designers, and consultants.
- Integrate inputs from cross-functional teams (F&B, IT, HR, Brand, Operations, Finance, Purchasing) to maintain project milestones and timelines.
- Presentation to senior management.
- Review ID and coordinated drawings; validate milestones and approvals with relevant departments.
- Track project progress, milestones, and estimated opening dates.
- Maintain strong relationships with Owners and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth handover to operations upon project completion.
Requirements
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related discipline.
- 6-10 years of experience in hospitality design, with strong exposure to F&B design and operational planning.
- Proven track record in hospitality projects, including Resorts & Full Service Hotels, F&B Design, planning workflows, kitchen equipment allocation, FOH and BOH layouts.
- Strong design sensibility with technical ability to take projects from concept to execution.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary internal teams and third-party consultants.
- Proficient in design software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, 3D visualization programs, and AI design tools.
- Outstanding graphic presentation skills and ability to communicate design ideas clearly.
- Independent, mature, and solution-driven with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel regionally and provide on-site project delivery support as required, including extended travel when project needs dictate.
- Team player with a proactive attitude and flexibility to go the extra mile.
