Job Description

Key Responsibilities

The Manager, Partnerships shall be responsible for strengthening and expanding APSN's strategic engagement with corporate or individual stakeholders andcommunity partners. Managing a team of partnership and fundraising executives, the incumbent will drive key fundraising initiatives to achieve annual targets, secure stakeholder buy-in for collaborative approaches, and actively optimise existing partnership processes.

1. Strategic Fundraising & Partnership Development

  • Prospecting & Cultivation: Proactively identify and engage corporate partners, foundations, family offices, and High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs) to grow and diversify the funding pipeline.
  • Grants & Proposals: Lead grant strategies, conduct research, and craft compelling proposals for trusts and grant-making bodies.
  • Portfolio Expansion: Drive acquisition, retention, and multi-year giving across donor segments while exploring new strategic collaborations.
  • Fundraising: Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, payroll giving and legacy giving.

2. End-to-End Campaign Execution & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Project Ownership: Take full responsibility for assigned fundraising initiatives, campaigns, CSR activities, and donor appreciation events with complete start-to-end management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Communications to create marketing collaterals and boost brand mindshare; support APSN Schools, Centres, and Shared Services with fundraising needs.
  • Community & Beneficiary Engagement: Nurture stakeholder relationships and oversee student/client outings in coordination with corporate partners and community agencies.
  • Strategic partnerships: Establish strategic partnerships with corporations and community groups.

3. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • People Management: Direct, coach, and guide team members to build strong relationship-management capabilities and meet performance targets.
  • Performance & Portfolio Reviews: Conduct regular team portfolio reviews and support staff in achieving agreed engagement and fundraising goals.
  • Culture & Mindset: Cultivate a collaborative, proactive, and supporter-centred team culture that values continuous learning, innovation, and professional relationship management.

4. Governance, Data Management & Operational Excellence

  • Compliance & Safeguarding: Ensure all donations, grant applications, and engagement activities adhere to APSN governance standards, legal regulations, and approved platforms.
  • Data Integrity & Reporting: Oversee the donor and partner database to maintain accurate records, track donor behaviour/giving trends, and prepare data-driven forecasts for leadership.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously refine operational workflows, systems, and supporter engagement practices to maximise long-term donor value.
  • Policies: Support the development and review of fundraising policies, and adherence to gift acceptance guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Reports: Help HOD prepare relevant fund raising reports and updates for management, committees and the Board.
  • Donor Management System: Maintain accurate donor records and oversee donor database management.

5. To be involved in any other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing/Mass Communication or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in fundraising, partnerships, grant writing and events management, with a proven track record of prospecting and securing new funding from family offices, foundations, grant-making bodies and High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs). Experience in sales, business development and/or client management preferred.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience, with a track record of new business development.
  • Strong presentation skills and communication skills.
  • Familiar with prospect research, CRM/donor database and grant management tools to support pipeline building and proposal tracking.
  • Familiar with MS Office, Google Drive, and presentation software.
  • Attention to details, with the ability to work independently and in a team, to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and networking skills with the ability to nurture relationships with stakeholders of varying levels.
  • Positive outlook with a can-do attitude.
  • Highly self-motivated, resourceful, innovative, committed and driven, with focus on fundraising and partnerships.
  • Entrepreneurial, hunter mindset with the confidence and polish to open doors with C-suite executives, family office principals and foundation trustees, and the resilience to handle cold outreach and rejection in pursuit of new funding.
  • Strong proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written. A second language will be an added advantage.
