Job Description

Job Summary

This role is to establish and lead the operational foundation for the Variable Universal Life (VUL) product. The role will be responsible for building core processes, documentation standard, and maintain good external partnerships. As the primary subject matter expert for VUL operations, the individual will work closely with private banks, custodians, business partner, and internal teams to ensure a seamless end‑to‑end policy lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full VUL lifecycle from application submission to policy issuance, including custodian account setup and premium funding coordination.
  • Resolve operational issues and ensure timely completion of all lifecycle tasks.
  • Establish documentation standards and risk management practices for VUL administration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with private banks, custodians, and business partners.
  • Act as the VUL SME supporting brokers, financial advisory firms, and bancassurance channels.
  • Provide operational guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct due diligence, compliance reviews, and corporate documentation assessments during partner onboarding.
  • Ensure alignment with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and risk guidelines.
  • Track, manage, and report Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across custodians, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and provide reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance service delivery or operation process efficiency.
  • Perform any projects or work as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with business related qualifications
  • 15+years in life insurance operations. Strong working knowledge of VUL products, VUL operational lifecycle and custodial structures is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the expectations and service standards required for HNW clients
  • Familiarity with due diligence processes, compliance assessments, and regulatory expectations.
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with internal and external partners Self-starter with the ability to build processes from scratch and work autonomously.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
