Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Network Engineering and Operations, the Network manager is a key individual within the Infrastructure Technology team providing technical expertise, architectural leadership and guidance with emphasis on network infrastructure design, engineering and governance. In additional, he will be involved in supporting network operations when required.

The Network manager will work with external technology vendors, System Integrators (SI), hosting service providers and internal IT groups and business units to provide support infrastructure implementation which includes the overall infrastructure solution design, hardware and software sizing, cost estimation, RFP and implementation. He/She will be a Subject Matter Expert to network projects and initiatives. He/She will also provide support and guidance to network operations when required to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.

Job responsibilities

  • Closely collaborates with IT infrastructure teams, IT application teams and other peers on architecture, solutions and approaches and aligning roadmaps.
  • Works closely with engineers and other infrastructure groups (Tech Ops, Information Security, application development, End User services) in the execution of technology proof of concepts, pilots and the technology adoption lifecycle
  • Establishes governing principles for network design and deployment and make ongoing recommendations of network/security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures relevant to Enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Acts as lead Network manager responsible for capacity planning and configuration assessments for routers, switches, network appliances, host, and other communication devices
  • Recommends technical solutions that will enhance performance, increase redundancy and security, and add flexibility to the existing infrastructure.
  • Analyzes technical needs, requirements, and state of the network's infrastructure design, integration, and operations.
  • Works with technical management to architect networks that effectively reflect business needs, service-level and availability requirements, and other technology parameters.
  • Works closely with outsourced service providers to facilitate the planning, forecasting, implementation and identification of requirements for network systems including core switching and routing, wireless and VOIP technologies, of moderate/high complexity
  • Serves as a high-level technical resource on large scale network issues and assists in resolving complex technical problems on new and existing implementations including install and upgrades of switches, routers and wireless access solutions
  • Conducts network studies and traffic analyses, develops Network manager uses, prepares forecasts of network traffic and capacity, and recommends modifications to the network configurations thatreduce costs or improve service, while maintaining security
  • Provides integration review/design, migration or replacement of network/security devices

Job requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in electrical, electronic, or computer engineering, computer science, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of IT network experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a large global enterprise network in a design, engineering, or architecture role
  • Minimum of 10 years of LAN/WAN Network Engineering experience installing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment including Cisco routers, switches and Firewalls
  • Led or actively involved in global WAN migration projects, global IPT projects, office separation and data center migration projects
  • Experience in implementing and using various networking tools to globally monitoring network equipment tools at office sites
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP networking technologies.
  • Must have significant experience working with LAN/WAN/Wireless technologies, monitoring solutions, and securing a corporate network
  • Expert level knowledge of Data Center design, routing and switching, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, RSTP, Multicast, Local and Geographic Load Balancing, WAN Acceleration
  • Expert level knowledge of existing and emerging network technologies such as Cisco Nexus 7K/5K, Cisco 4500 and 6500 platform,ASR routers, Wireless, 802.1x
  • Cisco certifications in: CCNA, CCNP and CCNP Voice are preferred
  • Led or actively involved in SD-WAN migration project
