Provide timely legal advice to support business objectives while managing legal risks including support for training.
Maintain good communication with business units/functions and provide holistic legal support for new product development and cross border expansion plans.
Keep up with current changes on all relevant areas of laws and development, refinement and management of legal documentation for the Group's operations including support for the review of legal templates and internal policies and advising on legal risk implications arising from the documentation.
Act as the Legal Partner for the SWEAP Business Unit, providing day-to-day legal support on operational matters, including marketing agreements, P&C employee matters, and SWEAP-related projects
Member participation in SWE Legal community
Provide legal advice from region perspective to protect IP, enhance protection, manage risk or defend against third party claims for beverage as well as health enrichment products under SBFA.
Assist in trademark and portfolio management, training for SBFA owned IP, coordination with other IP teams (in SIL, LRS and SHD) to support Suntory Trademark Family way.
Support SBF in the roll-out of new Global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Policy and updated Guidelines (subject to JP's timeline).
Assist in facilitation of key risk owner discussions between BUs and region owners, analyze and review risk registers submitted by BUs, report to SBF Tokyo and support any other activities in connection with the annual ERM exercise.
Support SBF's development of Riskonnect (subject to JP's timeline).
Coordinate/ Organize inaugural in-person/online ERM Planning Meeting (for all RCs). Timely execution of ERM Calendar including preparation and lead time and information sharing for the ERM community.
Support for roll out and implementation of personal data guidelines from Japan and OneTrust Management Platform for all Bus where required
Job Requirements
Degree in law or equivalent from recognized University.
Min 5 years post qualification experience, in- house counsel experience preferred
Good commercial understanding especially of FMCG business
Proficient in spoken and written English and Japanese language (as translation/ liaison work required)
Good communication skills including presentation skills and use for company social media platforms
