Role Overview

The Manager, MICE will spearhead strategies to position Sentosa as a leading destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions. This role requires driving business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and supporting stakeholders in ensuring seamless delivery of high-value events. The individual will combine market intelligence, strong industry networks, and effective leadership to achieve business growth and strengthen Sentosa's reputation as a premier MICE hub.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

a. Execute and co-develop sales strategies to achieve revenue and visitation targets for the MICE segment.

b. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through associations, corporates, PCOs, DMCs and international channels.

c. Analyse market trends, client needs, and competitor activity to generate qualified leads.

d. Manage the end-to-end sales cycle, from bid proposals to contract negotiation and confirmation.

2. Client & Stakeholder Engagement

a. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including corporates, associations, event planners, and industry partners.

b. Act as the main point of contact for high-value clients, addressing inquiries and providing solutions.

c. Ensure excellent client experience and service standards throughout the event planning and delivery process.

d. Partner with hotels, venues, attractions, the Singapore Tourism Board and the hospitality eco-system to curate integrated delegate offerings.

3. Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration

a. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and partners to align strategies and deliver compelling MICE experiences.

b. Work closely with local and regional stakeholders to support destination branding.

c. Contribute to the creation of value-added delegate experiences that enhance the appeal of Sentosa.

4. Financial & Performance Management

a. Contribute to annual budget planning, revenue forecasts, and sales performance targets.

b. Monitor results against KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and growth.

c. Manage sales expenses efficiently to ensure maximum ROI.

5. Team Leadership

a. Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of MICE professionals to achieve collective goals.

b. Provide coaching, conduct performance reviews, and drive a culture of excellence and innovation.

c. Organize regular sales meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions to align on strategies.

6. Market Insights & Thought Leadership

a. Monitor global and regional MICE trends to inform strategy and product development.

b. Represent Sentosa Development Corporation at trade shows, industry forums, and networking events.

c. Benchmark competitor destinations and identify innovative approaches to stay ahead.

7. Requirements

a. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field.

b. Minimum 57 years experience in MICE sales or business development

c. Strong track record in securing international/regional events.

d. Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

e. Strong industry networks and ability to build long-term partnerships.

f. Results-oriented with analytical and strategic thinking skills.

g. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a sales team.

h. Possessing a class 3 driving license will be advantageous.
