Job Description

The Strategy and Security PT/TS department (Sales and Customer Services for Mercedes-Benz Cars) takes care of key issues relating to IT security and strategic projects. The PT/TST Cyber Security, Risk and Compliance team coordinates the information security-related topics for the market regions Europe, USA, China and Overseas worldwide as well as the international competence centers.

We are seeking a Manager - Information Security Officer Coordinator (ISO Coordinator) who will be responsible for the global coordination of all information security-related topics to ensure compliant, stable, and secure IT applications and infrastructure across all phases of the product lifecycle. This includes supporting all technological approaches (e.g., cloud, emerging technologies and AI) and working models (e.g., DevSecOps) to achieve our security objectives, mitigate vulnerabilities over the long term, and deliver solutions and products within a complex business, IT, and cyber security environment.

The role contributes to the sustainable improvement of processes, assets, models, applications, and organizational units within the PT/TS department (Sales and Customer Services for Mercedes-Benz Cars) worldwide, while maintaining close collaboration with relevant touchpoints across the SC-BISO organization. One aspect of the role is to enhance the security automation solutions in the area of cyber security including AI agents to increase quality, efficiency and data driven automation.

In addition, the position requires lateral leadership within the security organization and a high level of security expertise. This includes serving as an L5 Manager to help remove work obstacles, foster employee motivation, and support security-related roles through effective engagement with individuals to understand their aspirations, skills, capabilities, and development needs.

The Information Security Officer Coordinator (ISO Coordinator) is also responsible for the ISO organization in his/her area of responsibilities which includes:

  • Provides support in ensuring that an ISO is named for every relevant division in their area of responsibility
  • Coordinates cyber security initiatives and projects in their area of responsibility including the development of automation solutions for cyber security, risk and compliance
  • Multiplies and coordinates global cyber security requirements in their ISO organization
  • Ensure continual improvement of the ISO organization and reports directly to the PT/TST Cyber Security , Risk and Compliance and CISO
  • Tasks described for the ISOs are also applicable to ISO Coordinators
  • Management of the PT/TSM ISOs including market forum of the ISOs, best practice sharing, contributing in ISOC Community meetings proactively

QUALIFCATIONS

  • Degree in Computer/Information Science or Information Technology or any equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in various fields of IT (e.g. strategy, governance, development of processes/methods, cyber security, risk management, compliance, standards, architecture, technology and programs)

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong knowledge of IT project management frameworks and process improvements, according to common waterfall methodology or comparable agile models (SCRUM, SAFe, or similar)
  • Experience in optimizing IT and business processes and shape complex technical processes from security perspective
  • Good knowledge of NIST, Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP)
  • Knowledge of application security including the following components: authentication, authorization, data validation, encryption, exception handling, logging, etc.
  • Experience in leading complex, interdisciplinary IT projects and initiatives in cooperation with intercultural or distributed teams
  • Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control System (ICS) security principles, including assessment of manufacturing and connected operational environments.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI)Governance, AI Security and responsible AI practices, including familiarity with frameworks and methodologies such as OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, OWASP AI Security Guidance, MITRE ATLAS and emerging AI governance standards.
  • Ability to conduct and support cyber security maturity reviews, audits and assessment programs
  • Experience in automation of cyber security processes with no-code / low-code tools

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Professional IT security certifications (CISA,CISSP, ISO 27001 or equivalent)
  • ISO certification Soft Skills/Individual Competence
  • Ability to incorporate new technology into current and future business applications - Strong conceptual thinking ability
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities with the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills to drive adoption of consistent processes, methodology and practices throughout the IT department
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism and a cooperative attitude
  • Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism in providing management support, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact and diplomacy
  • Succinct, direct, grammatically correct and role-based stakeholder communication skills are a must
  • Outstanding presentation skills. Previous teaching or facilitation experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate a team to gain credibility within the organization
  • Result orientation in high quality, time and cost, initiative and a very independent way of working are a must
