The Team
Due to the continued growth of our Indirect Tax practice across the region, we are looking to hire Manager-level candidates (depending on experience) to join our GST team in Singapore.
Our GST Team advises clients across a broad range of industries on all aspects of Singapore GST, including GST advisory, GST due diligence, GST compliance, GST health checks, Assisted Self-help Kit (ASK) reviews, Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP) reviews, GST dispute resolution, GST incentive applications and cross-border transactions. We also support multinational clients on regional indirect tax matters and work closely with overseas member firms on cross-border projects.
This role will lead and execute a diverse range of GST advisory and compliance engagements, providing practical and commercially focused advice to clients on complex business transactions, business restructurings, international trade and cross-border supply chain arrangements. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with other departments to deliver integrated GST solutions to multinational corporations, private equity funds and other leading financial investors.
How You Will Contribute
- Advise client on the GST treatment applicable to their business transactions, including new business arrangement and cross border transactions.
- Assist clients with various GST related applications, such as GST registration, GST exemption, GST import schemes, and applications for GST rulings.
- Review and e-file clients GST returns and Statement of Claims prior to submission to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS).
- Conduct Assisted Self-Help Kit (ASK) reviews, Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP) reviews and GST health check to assess GST compliance.
- Assist client in preparing and drafting response to IRAS queries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant professional qualification is preferred.
- At least 6 years of relevant GST experience, preferably with an international accounting firm.
- Positive working attitude, with strong initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and with strong analytical skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills, coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and challenging work environment.
- Preferably an accredited member of the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP) such as an Accredited Tax Advisor (ATA-GST) or Accredited Tax Practitioner (ATA-GST).
