Purpose & Scope

The function reports to the Group CEO and administrates and manages the investment and divestment process, as well as support the GCEO in the Senior Leadership Council meetings.

It provides middle and back-office support to all investments and divestment activities for the Group, starting from project initiation, approval, execution to completion. In addition, the function coordinates and manages the business and corporate functions performance tracking and evaluation for the Group.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan and organise the committee meetings to ensure the smooth and effective running of the meetings
  • Record all action points raised by the committee to ensure they are actioned by the project teams
  • Maintain the investment approvals database to ensure all plans remain current, and review any changes, register and table the changes to the committee
  • Work on streamlining procedures, approval papers/ documents and key investment parameters with the project team, functional and peer review team to ensure that the required investment information and review have been incorporated before tabling at the committee
  • Update, report and ensure all regular reviews (monthly, quarterly, by investment type) are scheduled and actioned in line with the set timeline
  • Identify improvements and update changes on process framework and procedures (for new or specific investments) and ensure compliance by all stakeholders
  • Monitor and track post-completion projects and schedule post investment review to be conducted by Group Portfolio Management with the project teams. Institute the reporting and sharing of case study and lesson learnt from the post investment reviews
  • Monitor capital commitments and exposure for portfolio of approved and would be approved investments submitted to the committee
  • Work with IT and end-users (project team, functional assurance, committee) to define and develop a digitisation platform for the investment approval process to
  • Enable users to provide info and upload documents timely and ensure compliance to process steps and timeline
  • Reduce manual tracking and increase traceability and consistency for the process value chain management
  • Centralise information depository to drive data insights
  • Encourage collaboration and improve communication across stakeholders across the process steps

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Accountancy/ Business Administration/ Finance/ Engineering with at least 3-5 years of experience
  • At least 3 years of financial modelling experience in financial or investment analyst role to review investment case evaluation
  • Highly organised, accurate and methodical, with attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, essential for minute taking at a senior level, preparing presentations, and writing reports
  • Highly responsible and can work independently to follow through swiftly and timely on action points and next steps
  • Team player and strong stakeholder management skill, ability to liaise and coordinate effectively with managers and employees across markets and portfolio
  • Resourceful and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where there are competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Strong in MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets, Power point presentations, Word processors
