Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to lead and oversee the company's construction operations, focusing on steel structural works projects in Singapore. You will drive business performance, project execution, and strategic growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct construction operations and strategic initiatives to achieve measurable business growth
- Manage multiple construction projects to ensure timely completion within budget and compliance with Singapore regulations
- Lead business development by preparing tenders, negotiating contracts, and acquiring new clients to expand market presence
- Drive financial performance by budgeting, controlling costs, and optimizing profits across projects
- Ensure strict adherence to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards and other regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve issues
- Provide leadership and guidance to project managers, engineers, and site personnel to improve team performance and project outcomes
- Plan and deploy manpower effectively while fostering workforce development and skills enhancement
- Manage contractual issues including claims, variation orders, and dispute resolution to protect company interests
- Implement process improvements and adopt digital solutions to increase operational efficiency and productivity
Required competencies and certifications
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contract management, and project execution
- Familiarity with Singapore construction regulations and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry
- At least 5 years in a senior managerial or leadership role
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
