Job Description

To plan and execute fundraising strategies and support overall fundraising initiatives at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Key duties include:

  • Drive a portfolio of donors (foundations, high network individuals, corporates, family offices, others) from prospect research, cultivation and solicitation to gift closing
  • Conceptualise short and long-term strategies to advance gift discussions with prospective/ existing donors together with HOD
  • Shape convincing narratives together with Principal Investigators (PIs)/HODs to prepare compelling proposals and appeals for donors
  • Be responsible for significant personal target as part of overall $45m team target
  • Drive at least one fund-raising campaign
  • Initiate and build effective, collaborative relationships with faculty and PIs to develop a pipeline of products
  • Run gift processing (fund collections, internal transfers/documentation), supervising team colleagues in the process
  • Act as liaison point and source of information for all NUS Depts in matters related to fundraising, gift processes, and policies as well as to train and educate depts on processes.
  • Onboard and assist in guiding new joiners on matters related to gifts and giving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant fundraising experience.
  • Flexible self-starter, able to work independently, at the same time, an effective team-player.
  • Experience in relationship building roles and able to communicate and work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Strong writing ability is a plus.
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging social media platforms. Success with fundraising via social media platforms a plus
  • For candidates without non-profit experience, a proven ability to learn new skills and apply them to new environments will be considered.
