As Manager for Investments, you will be responsible for driving AboitizPower's global growth strategy through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, market entry, and expansion initiatives. You will contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Investment Committee to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
The Manager for Investments will identify and build relationships with potential international partners and government officials, generate deals, support portfolio selection, prioritization, and execution, while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and risk management strategies.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Lead international deals from the origination to final investment decision, responsible for ultimate accountability of the process.
- Steer generation, selection, prioritization, balancing and termination of deals.
- Develop pipeline of credible opportunities to meet company international portfolio targets.
- Provide senior management with timely, pertinent, and precise information to support decision-making.
Outcomes Expected and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning
- Develop international growth strategies through M&A, joint ventures, and participation in strategic alliances.
- Assess regulatory, geopolitical, and compliance risks associated with international expansion.
- Create business plans and financial models.
Due Diligence
- Oversee financial, operational, and legal assessments.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on country-specific policies, trade regulations, and economic environments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Provide risk assessment reports and ensure all potential risks are communicated to senior management.
Deal Sourcing & Evaluation
- Maintain a pipeline of potential deals and strategic partnerships.
- Evaluate potential companies based on growth strategies, performance in market and implementation plans.
Negotiations
- Lead negotiations and structure deals.
- Maximize value and mitigate risks.
Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective partners, counterparties, industry organizations and government entities in identified markets.
- Communicate with senior management.
- Provide regular updates on M&A activities and strategic partnerships.
Risk Assessment
- Oversee risk assessments and sign off on project evaluations, implementation strategies, and execution plans.
- Integrate risk risk assessment reports and ensure all potential risks are communicated to Senior Management.
Network and Relationship Building
- Represent the company at international trade shows, conferences, and forums to identify new business opportunities.
- Build a strong global network of potential partners, investors, and industry experts.
- Stay ahead of global market trends and geopolitical changes that may impact expansion strategies.
To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:
- >7 years of relevant experience in investments, project finance, economic analysis, or business management
- 3 years of international project experience in the power industry in business development, project delivery (greenfield projects, preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree in any four-year related course (Business, Accounting, Management, Engineering)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge on emerging power technologies (not required but preferred)
