About The Role

The Manager, Food Safety reports to the Senior Director Food Safety, Global; this position is responsible for ensuring the new products for all our brands in our APAC markets are food safe, by providing a timely and accurate food safety review and approval of the Operations Procedures and of the corresponding ingredient specifications. Provides food safety support for APAC QA Team as required.

The position is based in RBI offices in Singapore.

RBI follows a 5 day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Candidates should be comfortable working onsite 5 days per week.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Accountable to the Sr Dr Food Safety, Global, for the accurate, timely and efficient management of the APAC Operation Procedure review process, including ingredient review.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of RBI, and its brands, standards and policies and regional requirements and be able to apply this knowledge throughout the review process.
  • Complete APAC food safety Operations Procedure reviews and ingredient reviews in alignment with global and regional requirements and internal brand standards and policies.
  • Function as a conduit between Global Food Safety, Specification Writers and Global Stakeholders to address and resolve APAC food safety procedural issues and ingredient concerns.
  • Coordinate and manage workload with Regional Quality Assurance teams to ensure timely and accurate APAC food safety Operations Procedure reviews (and ingredient reviews), meeting the required turn-around-times.
  • Maintain transparency of processes through regular updates of APAC data to International Operations Procedure Approval Tracker and other measurement tools as defined.
  • Provide reports on critical processes and performance as requested by RBI QA Leadership.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Sciences or related field
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive work experience in related area, preferably in a large restaurant or hospitality chain
  • Foundation in and knowledge of food science and food safety principles, included but not limited to basic aspects of food technology, sensory and packaging; Potentially Hazardous Food (also known as TCS foods) assessments, food safety standards (governed by health authority) of food businesses, and proper sanitation.
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification
  • Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a global team
  • Flexible, self-starter, resourceful and meticulous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
