Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Manager, DCES, M&E, you will work collaboratively across all parties to ensure data centre uptime, optimize cost efficiency, and enhance performance, while driving problem resolution and aligning engineering support with business objectives, which includes:
- Provide data centre operations engineering support for the STT GDC Group of Companies as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical, mechanical, controls and other critical systems.
- Lead problem management and root cause analysis (RCA), implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Act as 2nd/3rd-level technical escalation point for site operations and critical infrastructure matters.
- Develop, review, and enforce engineering standards, including procedures, MOPs, drawings, test scripts, and vendor recommendations, ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance.
- Oversee asset lifecycle management, recommending upgrades, refresh, and obsolescence strategies while supporting predictive and reliability-centred maintenance.
- Conduct risk assessments for critical infrastructure, identify single points of failure, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support business continuity and recovery planning with engineering expertise and risk-mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional DCO towers, including Site Operations, Solutioning & Provisioning, Service Assurance, and Technical Service Management, to ensure seamless operations and effective knowledge transfer.
- Collaborates with the Technology & Project Delivery team to improve maintainability and built quality.
- Responsible and accountable for the procurement of technical services and works, including contract management, administration, and renewal of existing service agreements.
- Collaborate with in-country DC Operations teams to develop, verify and review technical policies, processes, procedures and work instructions, including maintenance frameworks and best practices.
- Act as programme manager, responsible and accountable from planning through certification for all technical certification programmes, including Green Building, ISO, ANSI/TIA-942, etc.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable legal requirements and other compliance obligations relating to in-country DC building operations.
- As the energy manager, performing both technical and managerial functions in the areas including energy audits, energy management, energy saving programs, energy engineering works, energy saving retrofitting works and financial advisory for energy efficiency measures.
- Provide strategic support and guidance for regional DCES related initiatives, activities and works across the STT GDC Group of Companies.
- Any other duties or projects as assigned by the Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in operations, maintenance, commissioning, construction and/or design of mission critical facilities, with data centre experience preferred.
- Candidates with regional work experience will have an advantage.
- Must possess Energy and Environmental Management related certifications, including SCEM, SGBC Green Mark Professional Qualifications, LEED GA, LEED AP or other related certifications
- Proven track record in leading certification programs, including ANSI/TIA-942, Uptime, BCA-IMDA Green Mark for Data Centres, SS 564, LEED, ISO, etc.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CEng, PE, PMP, Uptime Accredited Tier Designer/Specialist) are preferred.
- Familiar with international standards such as ASHRAE, Uptime, ISO, NFPA, Singapore Standards.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and work under tight deadlines.
