Job Description

The Community Giving team at Singapore Cancer Society approaches fundraising as the design of end-to-end donor journeys and engagement experiences.

Rather than focusing only on transactions, the team focuses on building meaningful pathways for supporters to grow, from awareness, to participation, to advocacy and fundraising.

We are looking for a Manager who will take ownership of specific fundraising platforms and initiatives, designing the experiences that engage supporters and communities.

This role combines strategy, user experience thinking, behavioural insight, and project execution. The successful candidate will approach fundraising with a product mindset, thinking about supporter engagement as a journey that can be designed, tested, and improved.

Responsibilities:

1. Fundraising Platform Ownership

  • Lead the strategy and development of multiple fundraising platforms or engagement initiatives.
  • Own and manage community fundraising platforms or initiatives (e.g., campaigns, peer-to-peer platforms, community engagement programmes), driving sustainable fundraising practices.
  • Design and optimise the end-to-end supporter journey, from discovery to participation to advocacy.
  • Guide the development of innovative engagement experiences that mobilise supporters into advocates and fundraisers.

2. Experience & Journey Design

  • Apply UX/UI and journey design thinking to create meaningful engagement experiences.
  • Lead the mapping of supporter journeys and identify barriers, motivations, and opportunities for engagement.
  • Develop initiatives that encourage supporters to become advocates and community fundraisers.
  • Lead the review of the team's donor journey, including but not limited to donor engagement and experience.

3. Strategy & Insight Development

  • Work closely with leadership to shape the Community Giving strategy.
  • Analyse engagement and fundraising performance to generate insights.
  • Apply principles from behavioural science and community engagement to improve campaign design.
  • Drive the diversification of fundraising revenues through proactive identification of new entry points for participation (place-based, time-based, people-based, platform-based).
  • Study and staying up-to-date with sectoral best practices, through active engagement with sector counterparts.

4. Initiative Execution

  • Lead the planning and delivery of of strategic initiatives to grow participation and fundraising outcomes.
  • Develop strategic initiatives to grow participation and fundraising outcomes.
  • Lead and drive collaborative initiatives across departments.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage community partners, volunteers, and supporters.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams including communications, programmes, and operations.
  • Coordinate with donor administration functions to ensure smooth supporter and donor experiences.
  • Cultivate strategic partners to enhance the sustainability of the community fundraising efforts.
  • Mentor junior team members to grow strategic lens toward community fundraising.

6. Storytelling & Communication

  • Translate complex ideas and programme impact into clear, engaging narratives.
  • Support the development of campaign messaging and engagement content.
  • Communicate supporter stories that inspire participation and giving.

Criteria:

  • Relevant experience with at least 4 years in driving initiatives with a focus on ownership and execution.
  • A background in UX/UI design, product management, marketing or growth, community engagement, behavioural/social sciences, or nonprofit fundraising and programme development will be advantageous.
  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Creative problem-solver with a strong track record of execution and delivering outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into engaging, user-centric initiatives.
