Position Summary
This position will lead the identification, trial, and deployment of cutting-edge automation technologies across logistics operations in the Asia Pacific region. The role encompasses both mechanical automation (e.g., robotics, AGVs, sortation systems) and process automation (e.g., RPA, workflow digitization, AI-driven decision support). This person will serve as a cross-functional catalyst for change, working collaboratively with operations, IT, engineering, and vendor partners to drive efficiency, scalability, and innovation in logistics operations.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of automation strategies and pilots across warehousing, transport, and support functions.
- Evaluate, select, and implement mechanical automation technologies (e.g., robotics, conveyor systems, automated storage and retrieval systems).
- Champion process automation initiatives using RPA, digital workflows, and AI-driven solutions.
- Build strong business cases for automation investment including ROI modelling and risk assessments.
- Establish and lead project teams to deliver automation initiatives from concept through deployment.
- Partner with IT, operations, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration and scalability.
- Track performance metrics and continuously improve automation deployments.
- To stay abreast of emerging trends in logistics automation and identify future opportunities.
- Customer / Stakeholder Management:
- Responsible for addressing the feedback from customers / stakeholders and providing the justification on the same
- Responsible for discussing the solution with the customer / stakeholder and updating them about the major highlights of the solution
- Responsible for evaluating the available information to develop an effective solution to meet the goals of the customer at large, often with limited information and under tight deadlines.
- Team Management:
- Responsible for the development of the team by providing them with ongoing feedback, coaching and opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods
- Responsible for providing technical support and directions to engineers for development
- Responsible for managing the project and delivering innovation and automation
Qualifications Summary
Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 5 years experience in logistics, industrial automation, or operations work experience.
Education:
Minimum bachelor's degree in robotics, engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
Skills:
- Proven track record of successfully delivering automation projects in industrial operations.
- Strong understanding of both mechanical systems and digital automation tools.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
**Selected candidate will get the chance to gain 6 months overseas training upon joining.
