Role and introduction

We are hiring a Manager - Assurance Services to lead sustainability assurance, GHG verification, and sustainability report audit engagements. This role is suited for professionals with 5-7 years of relevant experience who are ready to take full ownership of assurance engagements, manage client relationships, and provide technical and professional leadership to teams.

You will work closely with senior leadership and client management teams, lead assurance engagements end-to-end, and contribute to the development and strengthening of CSRWorks assurance and verification practice. CSRWorks is a Certified Great Place to Work.

Responsibilities

Assurance and verification delivery

• Lead sustainability report assurance engagements (limited and reasonable assurance).

• Lead and/or review GHG emissions verification engagements (Scope 1, Scope 2, and selected Scope 3).

• Perform sustainability report audits and technical reviews against recognised reporting frameworks.

• Plan, execute, and close assurance engagements in line with agreed scope, timelines, and quality requirements.

• Review and sign off on engagement workpapers and draft assurance statements.

• Ensure assurance conclusions are robust, evidence-based, and professionally defensible.

Standards and methodologies

• Apply recognised assurance and verification standards, including ISAE 3000, AA1000AS, ISSA 5000 and ISO 14064-3.

• Interpret sustainability disclosures aligned with frameworks such as GRI, ISSB/TCFD, ESRS and related standards.

• Maintain and contribute to the continuous improvement of assurance methodologies, templates, and quality controls.

• Stay current with evolving regulatory, reporting, and assurance expectations.

Client and stakeholder engagement

• Act as the primary client contact for assigned assurance and verification engagements.

• Lead planning meetings, walkthroughs, closing meetings, and assurance sign-off discussions.

• Communicate findings, observations, and assurance conclusions clearly to senior client stakeholders.

• Engage effectively with sustainability leaders, management teams, and governance or assurance committees.

Team leadership and development

• Manage, mentor, and review the work of Analysts and Associates.

• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to team members.

• Support engagement resourcing, scheduling, and delivery oversight across multiple projects.

Practice development

• Contribute to proposals, scoping discussions, and client presentations.

• Support fee scoping and commercial discussions for assurance and verification engagements.

• Contribute to the growth and positioning of CSRWorks assurance and verification practice.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with strong assurance fundamentals, sound professional judgement, and growing leadership capability.

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in assurance, audit, verification, sustainability assurance, or related professional services.

• Prior experience in sustainability report assurance and/or GHG verification is essential.

• Experience in sustainability consulting, audit, or assurance firms is strongly preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of:

  • Sustainability assurance standards (e.g. ISAE 3000, AA1000AS, ISSA 5000)

  • GHG verification standards (e.g. ISO 14064-3, GHG Protocol)

  • Sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, ISSB/TCFD, ESRS)

• Ability to assess complex sustainability data, systems, controls, and disclosures.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting assurance reports and client-facing materials.

• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently and work to deadlines.

• Confidence working with senior client stakeholders and internal teams.

• Willingness to work with clients and teams across different time zones when required.
