Job Description
Special Programmes Advisory and Liaison
- Lead College of Design and Engineering (CDE) as a key resource person for special undergraduate programmes, including Double Degree Programmes, Double Major and Minor programmes.
- Analyse academic compatibility between CDE programmes and partner programmes to support structured programme mappings and customised academic pathways.
- Liaise with department counterparts to guide students on study plans, progression pathways and relevant academic policies.
- Coordinate and administer double degree programmes, covering outreach, application, selection and completion, including:
- Overseeing student support matters such as monitoring academic progress, managing administrative escalations, and coordinating support with relevant University offices.
- Ensuring timely completion of programme requirements and milestones by students.
- Drive initiatives that enhance the build your own degree experience by enabling the development of flexible, scalable and personalised learning pathways.
Donor Scholarships Management
- Lead the application, evaluation and selection processes for CDE administered donated scholarships, ensuring fairness and alignment with stakeholder and donor requirements.
- Spearhead improvements to scholarship processes and the overall student experience through process refinement and the use of technology.
- Assist with data collation, analysis and reporting to support fundraising and donor stewardship efforts.
- Prepare operational reports, updates and documentation for programme leadership and governance requirements.
Undergraduate Admissions
- Oversee the annual undergraduate admissions exercise, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement initiatives to improve the handling of prospective student enquiries, including the use of digital or AI-enabled solutions to ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Provide data and insights to support outreach, recruitment and engagement activities.
Others
- Serve as a lead outreach representative for undergraduate programmes.
- Undertake other duties and new initiatives as assigned, in support of CDE's operational needs and strategic priorities.
- Lead projects to streamline operations and enhance student and staff experiences through improved processes, automation and best practices.
- Steer and coordinate faculty level events and initiatives such as Freshman Welcome, CDE Open Day and NUS Open House.
Qualifications
- A good Bachelor's degree from a recognized and reputable University.
- Relevant experience in higher education administration, programme management, or student related operations.
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply academic policies, regulations, and guidelines accurately and consistently.
- Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight timelines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong service orientation, with a demonstrated commitment to supporting student success.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups at different levels.
- Demonstrates professionalism, tact, and discretion in handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Analytical skills with experience working with data, reports, and administrative systems.
- Proficient in digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Office) and motivated to learn and apply new technologies.
- Experience in process improvement, digitalisation, or automation initiatives will be an advantage.
- Strong sense of curiosity and an aptitude for lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
- Strong logical and analytical thinking, with the ability to break down complex issues and synthesize insights.
- Experience or exposure to data driven and/or AI enabled decision making in an operational context.
