Key Responsibilities
- Assist in financial due diligence engagements, including identifying key financial risks, potential deal breakers, and assessing business performance against relevant industry benchmarks within the context of clients investment strategies.
- Analyse detailed financial information such as income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and key operational data, and synthesise findings into clear observations and conclusions to support discussions with target management and clients.
- Evaluate the quality and sustainability of reported earnings, net assets, working capital, and cash flows.
- Review and critique project data books and analysis prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Contribute to the preparation of deal‑oriented reports and presentations for clients, highlighting key financial, commercial, and operational findings impacting transaction valuation and structuring.
- Support the articulation of how due diligence findings may be reflected in valuation assumptions, sale or purchase agreements, and transaction negotiation considerations.
- Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management and client representatives, serving as a key support contact for day‑to‑day execution matters.
- Assist in maintaining and developing client relationships between transactions through ongoing communication and support.
- Support senior leadership in non‑delivery activities, including mentoring and training junior staff, engagement budgeting and fee tracking, recruitment activities, conflict checks, engagement setup, and client communications (e.g. billing updates, scope changes, and procedure request lists).
- Provide support to business development activities and proposal preparation, as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA or CA is preferred.
- Relevant professional experience in audit, financial due diligence, transaction advisory, or related accounting roles, with exposure to transaction‑related analysis.
- Prior experience within a large professional services or external audit environment is required.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience analysing financial statements and applying accounting standards to transaction contexts.
- Proficiency in English as the primary working language. Additional language capabilities may be advantageous where relevant to client engagements.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are required. Experience with data analytics or visualisation tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau is an advantage.
- Solid project management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines effectively.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including working familiarity with IFRS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analysis clearly to senior colleagues, client stakeholders, and management teams.
- Highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and commercially minded, with sound professional judgement.
- Team‑oriented, professional in manner, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel within the region where business needs require, subject to practical considerations.
